Palm tree pruning from €90
Simple jobs start from €90. The final price depends on the height of the palm, species, crown size, access, number of trees, waste volume and whether a cherry picker or special lowering system is required. We prefer to give a realistic quote after seeing photographs instead of advertising a fixed price that cannot apply to every garden.
Send one photo showing the complete palm and another showing the entrance or street. If there is a swimming pool, roof, pergola, wall or neighbouring property below the crown, include it in the picture. This helps us understand the real working area before travelling.
High palm trees, including 20 and 30 metre specimens
Very tall palms need more than a longer ladder. We assess vertical height, horizontal reach, wind exposure, the surface available for stabilising equipment and the path used to remove leaves. A palm standing on an upper terrace may be much more complicated than a taller specimen on open ground.
When access is suitable, we can use an aerial work platform. Where a machine cannot enter or be safely stabilised, technical climbing and controlled lowering may be the better option. We choose the method according to the property rather than forcing the same equipment into every job.
Phoenix and Washingtonia palms
Common palms in the Marina Alta include Phoenix canariensis, Phoenix dactylifera and several Washingtonia species. A mature Phoenix develops a broad, heavy crown. Washingtonias often reach considerable height and may retain a skirt of dry fronds. Date palms may also produce fruit bunches that create additional weight and mess around pools or paved areas.
We do not believe in stripping every green frond simply to make the crown look small. The aim is to remove dry, damaged or genuinely problematic material, manage fruit or flowers where required and leave the palm balanced.
Red palm weevil treatment
We also provide assessment and treatment for red palm weevil. A distorted crown, unusual central leaves, rapid decline or suspicious fibres around the crown should be investigated before a routine cosmetic pruning is carried out. Early assessment can make a significant difference to the options available.
We avoid pretending that a diagnosis can always be made from one photograph. Pictures are useful for an initial discussion, but a closer inspection may be necessary. If the palm is structurally compromised, safety becomes the first priority.
Emergency palm tree service
If a large frond is partly detached, the crown has been damaged by wind, or a dead palm threatens a driveway, terrace or public-facing area, tell us that the enquiry is urgent. We prioritise according to risk and available equipment.
Do not stand under unstable material to take a close photograph. A wide image from a safe position is more useful than putting yourself in danger. If there is an immediate danger involving a public road, overhead services or people, the appropriate public emergency service should also be contacted.
Waste removal and a clean finish
Palm fronds take up far more space on the ground than they appear to in the crown. Phoenix petioles can also be rigid and awkward to move. We can include collection, loading and removal within the quotation so that the client is not left with a large pile of green waste after the pruning.
Where the palm is far from vehicle access, the carrying route forms part of the job. On a villa with several levels we may need to move material up or down steps and through narrow side passages. This is one reason why access photos matter.

Photos that make a quotation more accurate
A useful photograph does not need to be professional. Stand far enough away to include the base, trunk and complete crown, then take a second image from the place where a vehicle or platform would have to enter. A third image should show anything sensitive below the palm, such as a pool, roof, glass, parked car or neighbouring garden. These pictures reveal scale and access much better than a close-up of leaves.
If the palm looks unstable, do not move underneath it simply to obtain a better angle. Safety comes first. For an urgent enquiry, explain what changed, whether there was recent wind and which area could be affected if material falls.
Planning the visit
